From a shared link to a playable story, in six steps.
Create a Story Request and share the link however you'd normally reach them — text, email, WhatsApp. They need no app and no account on their end; your free account is what owns the story.
Your relative opens the link, grants microphone access, and records one or more chapters. Large buttons, high contrast, no sign-up — built for anyone, including people who aren't especially tech-savvy.
Every recording arrives in your account first — the app and your login are the parent's side of it. Review each one before it goes anywhere. Recordings are automatically cleaned up (noise, volume levelling) as soon as they're uploaded.
A one-time step: link your family's Yoto account, then link one physical card to your family's story feed using the official Yoto app. That's the only manual step Yoto requires — after that it's automatic.
Every new recording gets pushed straight to your Yoto card's content — no need to redo the setup. Play it once on your Yoto Player and it's ready.
Use Pixel Studio to hand-draw or import a photo as the 16×16 icon your kids see on the card.
