Yes — stories sync to your family's Yoto account and play on a real Yoto Player. If you don't have one yet, you'll need one to actually play recordings, though you can still record and review stories before you get one.
No app and no account are needed for the person reading — you send them a private link and they record straight from their browser, nothing to remember. The account belongs to the parent: stories arrive there first, so you can listen before the kids do and then send the one you want to the card.
Very little. Accounts belong to adults only — we never collect or store a child's name or birthday, and a name you use to personalize a story is used only in the moment and never saved. If you use the AI Story Studio, we keep the exact age you enter (0–18) with your story request so the story we write is age-appropriate — it's never shared and is deleted with your account.
They're automatically and permanently deleted 30 days after upload, whether or not you've synced them to a card yet. Upgrading keeps everything indefinitely and lets you re-burn a card if it's lost or damaged.
Yes, at rest, on both the free and paid tiers.
Yes — the Little Tales Co. mobile app can duplicate your family's linked Yoto card onto extra blank cards using your phone's NFC. That part isn't available from the website, since it needs actual NFC hardware.
Yes — a Story Request can hold multiple chapters, recorded in one sitting or across several. Each new Story Request you send starts a fresh one.
